The American Gem Society™, a pillar in the jewelry industry since 1934, has a long history of pioneering innovation and setting benchmarks. The visionaries at the American Gem Society, dissatisfied with the status quo, saw the need for a diamond-grading laboratory that shared the American Gem Society founding tenet of consumer protection, and offered a diamond report with detailed information about a diamond's quality for all 4Cs including a Cut Grade for Round Brilliants. In 1996, the American Gem Society created the American Gem Society Laboratories® (AGS Laboratories).

Today, no diamond report offers more information than the AGS Laboratories' Diamond Quality® Document.
