AGS Laboratories Establishes Operations in Mumbai
May, 2005, Las Vegas
The AGS Laboratories announced today that it has contracted Gem Services International (GSI) to operate a take-in window in Mumbai. The new take-in window will start providing services mid-May.
"We're thrilled to expand our operations into India," said Peter Yantzer, Executive Director of AGS Laboratories. "This is an area that we've wanted to move into for some time, we were just waiting for the perfect opportunity, and we found that with GSI."
"India has evolved into the largest diamond manufacturing center, as well as the fastest growing retail market for diamond jewelry in the world. By utilizing the diamond grading services of the AGS Laboratories, the Indian diamontaires will be able to significantly improve marketability of their diamonds, as well as add value to the bottom line. We are excited to be selected by the AGS Laboratories for this venture," says Nikhil Jhaveri, President GSI.
The new take-in window will utilize Lemur Services to transfer the products in India, and Dunbar will manage the US. AGS Laboratories says that they will still maintain their policy of diamond grading results in five business days for clients of the take-in window.
GSI was organized to offer the diamond grading services of AGS Laboratories to the Indian diamond trade. Based in Los Angeles, GSI is managed by professionals with extensive experience in the diamond markets of India and the U.S.A., as well as in the international transportation of diamonds.
AGS Laboratories is committed to protecting the consumer by providing unbiased, consistent and accurate grading reports, such as the Diamond Quality Document, based on the highest standards of evaluating the quality factors of a diamond.
