The Diamond Quality™ Document

Plot

The plot, including the crown and pavilion views, is printed directly on the DQD. This feature is unique. Other laboratories have to use a peel and stick label. For Round Brilliant diamonds, the AGS Laboratories is able to print the crown view with the correct table diameter %. If a diamond has a 54% table, the crown will show a 54% table. If a diamond has a 68% table, the crown will show a 68% table.

This makes for more accurate plotting and a truer graphical representation. This is also another unique feature. At this time, we are not able to print varying table size on fancy shapes. We do, however, have correct faceting arrangements for virtually all fancy shapes. Here are a couple of examples: The inclusions and blemishes are hand plotted. We make every effort to make the plot look like the Clarity Grade. Over the years, we learned that the consumer can look at a plot that has been done with too heavy a hand and even though the Clarity Grade may be a 2, the plot makes the diamond look like a Clarity Grade 6. Special pens are used, and we are more likely to plot too lightly than too heavily.
